Instruction in Writing Skills, Literature, Math, Reading, Social Studies and Science. Prepares students for GED test. Instructional Unit .5-20.0

(this is part of our GED program but not all students participate) This class prepares students for the GED test. .5 -20.0 units

Family Literacy
Designed for interactions between parents and their children in school related work. (Reading skills is primary goal) .5 -20.0 untis

Vocational
Keyboarding: Introduction to letter keys, numbers, and symbols with exercise & skills check. Basic instructions on formatting using a word processor.

Internet: Instruction on basic Internet skills-using browsers, E-mail, and organizational skills.

Computer Literacy: An introduction to computers using Mircrosoft Office.

Windows XP: Instruction on basic and advanced use of Windows, editing basics, file management, utilities and other Windows features

Microsoft Works: Instruction on the basic and advanced features of word-processing.

Microsoft Word: Instruction on the basic and advanced features of word-processing

Microsoft Excel: Instruction on the basic and advanced features of using a spreadsheet.

Microsoft Access: Instruction on the basic and advanced features of using database.

Microsoft Power Point: Instruction on the use of this presentation software.

Microsoft Publisher: Instruction on the use of this desktop publishing program.

Microsoft Office Projects: Designed for students with good computer skills to enhance their business and software skills.

Web Page Design: Basic instruction on creating web pages.

Accounting & Advanced Accounting: Instruction on the accounting cycle of a proprietorship, analyzing transactions, journalizing, posting petty cash, financial statments and adjusting and closing entries.

Basic Welding: Instruction in safety, equipment uses and basic welds are covered .5-12 units

Job Skills: Introduce students to areas of the job search and employment process. Resume preparation, cover letters, interview techniques, job search (computer) and dress will be covered, .5 - 4.0 units

Medical Terminology: Offered to CNA graduates, this class covers medical terminology to improve job skills and student preparation for advanced education training. .5 4.0 units.

CPR: Training in cardiac resuscitation and leads to CPR certification. .5 - 2.0 units

Food Service: This class will teach safety handling, preparation and storage of food that leads to food handling certification. .5 - 1.0 units
