Public School Choice Information
As a result of No Child Left Behind, Lincoln Elementary School and Pana Jr. High School are required to offer School Choice. This requirement is due to each school's failure to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the last two years. However, Lincoln Elementary School is the only grade 2-4 school and Pana Jr. High is the only grade 7-8 school in the Pana district. Therefore, school choice within the district was not an option. Surrounding districts, Taylorville, Nokomis, Shelbyville, Ramsey, Cowden-Herrick, and Central A&M did not indicate interest in entering into an intergovernmental agreement to accept students from our district. Therefore School Choice is not an option at this time.
However, if School Choice was an option, the following information is required to be posted on the Pana C.U.S.D. #8 website:
Year | Number of Lincoln School Students Eligible for School Choice | Number of Lincoln School Students Who Participated in School Choice | Number of Lincoln School Students Eligible for Supplemental Services | Number of Lincoln School Students Who Participated in Supplemental Services | Number of Pana Jr. High Students Eligible for School Choice | Number of Pana Jr. High Students Who Participated in School Choice | Number of Pana Jr. High Students Eligible for Supplemental Services | Number of Pana Jr. High Students Who Participated in Supplemental Services |
