On Tuesday, February 11th, we'll roll up our sleeves and save lives! PHS is proud to continue the tradition of working with the American Red Cross in sponsoring the Senior Class Blood Drive. Each pint of blood we collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. What a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country.
Here's how you can help: Anyone over 16 years of age can donate (16-year-olds must have their guardian's permission so don't forget to pick up a permission slip in the office or in Mrs. Thompson's room by Monday and bring it back signed). Students who donate can receive a voucher for extra credit in a class of their choosing. Seniors who donate, or have a family member donate in their place, will be entered into a drawing for a $2500 scholarship.
What can you do before the big event? You can save time on the morning of the blood drive by completing your pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online ON the day of your donation. Then bring your printed (or screen shot) of completion to the drive. This can be reached by accessing www.RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPas... from the convenience of a mobile device or computer. Another way to speed up the process is to download the Red Cross Blood Donation app on your phone. Link can be found here: https://www.redcrossblood.org/blood-donor-app.html
It's not every day that we do something that has such a lifesaving impact. Thank you all for your continued support of the American Red Cross and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
