The City of Pana, with the cooperation of CUSD #8, is applying for grant funding to improve walking and bicycling infrastructure for students in our community. Please complete the simple 12-question online survey linked below (one survey per household). The survey collects crucial data about walking and biking to and from school. Even if your child does not currently walk or bike, we still want to hear from you. No names or email addresses will ever be collected as part of these surveys.

Last night, one of our buses carrying the Pana High School football team caught fire while traveling on Route 16. All students, staff, and coaches were safely evacuated, and no injuries occurred. We are proud of the calm response of our bus driver, coaches, and players, and we are deeply grateful to the Witt Fire Department, EMS, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois DNR, and all first responders for their quick action. The safety of our students remains our top priority, and we are thankful this incident ended without injury.

🎉Today our high school band, color guard, and senior athletes brought the energy to the elementary school! They played spirit songs, introduced themselves, and shared what they love about our school. Future panthers were cheering loud & proud—ready for an awesome season ahead!
