It was a crazy busy day in Mrs. Smith's class with the music/art program and our feast today. We had a lot of fun making our placemats, turkey popcorn bags, and turkey hats. We also made pumpkin pie pudding in a bag today. Thank you to everyone who sent in items for our feast. We had pumpkin pie pudding, ham, turkey, cranberry sauce, cornbread, sweet potatoes, and popcorn. It was a great day!

On Saturday, November 23, thirteen talented music students from Pana Junior and Senior High Schools took part in the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 5 Festival. This prestigious honor followed a rigorous audition process. The students had the opportunity to rehearse alongside peers from other schools in the area, under the guidance of esteemed guest directors. The event culminated in a series of exceptional festival performances that were enjoyed by the public. The following Pana Junior and Senior High School musicians were selected for the 2024 ILMEA District Five Festivals: Liberty Law (French Horn) performed in the Senior Orchestra. Karlee Hooper (Flute) and Alyssa Pieper (Clarinet) played in the Senior Band. Treyson Presnell (Trumpet), Milo Martell (French Horn), Lilly Frost (Trumpet), and Brynlee Tipsword (Trumpet) participated in the Junior Band. Em Mendenhall (Tenor), Gabby Heinrich (Alto), Cayden Hankins (Bass), Maisen Virden (Alto), Tyler McGuire (Bass), and Haven Blodgett (Alto) sang in the Treble and Mixed Choirs. This event highlighted the exceptional musical talents of these students and their dedication to their craft.

Our garden box has added so many fun learning opportunities. It taught us a lot about soil and plants. Now we built our own community. Everyone could bring or find things in the classroom for our residential, business, park, and rural areas. Ask us about Larry! 🦗
