On Tuesday, Oct 7th, the Pana girls Cross Country ran in the Carlinville Invitational. Amber Smith came in 22nd place with a time of 22:46. Kadence Rochkes came in 25th place with a time of 22:59. Madison Wilkins ran her best time of the 2025 season, running a time of 27:56. Congratulations to all runners on their accomplishments.

Cheer Camp Check In
The elementary school cheerleaders who are performing Friday night at half time of the varsity football game will have a check in station that is across from the field between the junior high and high school (the old location of the tailgates). Please check in there.
6th Grade Students used their decimal skills to fill in a Guest Check with their favorite foods from Pizza Man of Pana. They found the subtotal, the tax and the total cost of ordering their yummy favorites. It's interesting to see how some students were very frugal and some threw caution to the wind and ordered well over $100. Now that's a lot of pizza!
Mrs. Simpson's Preschool classes are learning all about Fire Safety this week. We turned our dramatic play center into a fire scene with a dispatch center. During small groups, we painted flames by mixing red and yellow to make orange. We used the flames to save our bears from the fire and put them in a safe place.

The Class of 2026 attended the Lake Land Career Day on October 7, 2025. Students attended various sessions presented by college instructors and a college fair.

On Saturday, the Pana Cross Country girls ran at the Southwestern Invitational in Piasa. Congratulations to sophomore Amber Smith for placing second in the second heat. Amber broke 22 minutes with a time of 21:58. She improved her time this season by 1:08 minutes.

Good luck to our boys golf team as they golf in the Sectional Golf Meet Monday in Jacksonville. The boys made PHS history bringing home a regional championship plaque from the Meridian regional.
The Pana High School Music Department has had a wonderful start to the year! Our Band, Color Guard and Choir are joyfully rehearsing and performing; our Guitar Techniques class is strumming away, and our World Music Classes are getting immersed in music from other cultures! The Pana Junior High Bands and Choir are in full swing and have had a great start to our year! The 7th/8th Grade Choir sang at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony; the 7th/8th Grade Bands joined the High School Band on the field for Homecoming, and there are some amazing sounds emanating from the 6th Grade Beginning Band!
