PJHS Money 101 class is learning about investing and making smart choices with money. The students played the Student Stock Market game for two weeks and the student that made the best investment was Joslyn.


State Representative Brad Halbrook spoke to 7th grade students on Tuesday at PJHS. Mr. Halbrook explained his role as a representative for the 102nd District and answered questions that they students prepared. Seventh grade students were finishing up their unit on Illinois history and government. We appreciate Mr. Halbrook taking time out of his day to meet with our students.


Fifth graders in Mrs. Maxedon's science class did an awesome job making photosynthesis models!

Mrs. Epley’s third graders had fun labeling fractions on a number line by writing on the tables.

The PHS Writing Center is open to help PHS students with their writing projects. At the WC, Comp 2 students peer-tutor to help students develop their ideas and writing skills. This is open to all PHS students during 3rd hour Enrichment.

Mrs. Schmitz’s class had fun celebrating the 100th Day of School! We were secret agents trying to complete missions in our classroom. We dusted for fingerprints, used magnifying glasses to find math equations, and played dice games. We had so much fun using the number 100!

PHS Crafts class broke open two new Ipads. The students are creating Calligraphy cards - their choice of theme found on Google Classroom. A student needed help cutting out a heart shape - the cricut machine assisted with that! Technology rocks!

John Berns and Emma Stephens have had a wonderful two days of composing and singing at IMEC All State!




Mr. Moore, from Edwards Jones came and spoke to the PJHS Money 101 class on the importance of investing for your future.


Our January Radio Students of the Month are Freshman: Madyx Angel, Sophomore: Lauren Ambrose, Junior: Chloe Bland, and Senior: Aryn Alde. Congratulations!!


PE classes have been working on our striking unit. Balloon skills and striker ball has been a fun aspect of this unit! Who doesn’t love balloons?!?!





Students in 8th grade robotics have created functioning "arthropod" robot prototypes. They are beginning to design their final models that will be 3-d printed.



Mrs. Chase, Emma Stephens, and John Berns are on their way to All-State at the Illinois Music Education Conference. Both students were selected to participate, which is the highest honor a high school student may receive. Congratulations John and Emma.
